Roles and permissions

What owners, site administrators, publishers, editors, authors and billing administrators can do.

Applies to: Early access, October 2026

Roles

Owners manage the organization, its team, its websites and its export. Site administrators manage a website’s settings, design, modules and domains. Publishers publish content. Editors draft and edit content but cannot publish. Authors draft their own content. Billing administrators see the organization’s agreement and cannot edit or publish content.

Access to some websites only

A role can apply to every website of the organization or only to some of them. Someone limited to one website does not see the others.

Changing someone’s role

Owners can change the roles of people in their organization, or revoke their access. Changing a role affects only this organization, never another one the person belongs to. An organization always keeps at least one active owner: make someone else an owner before stepping down. Owners do this on the Organization screen of the workspace, where they also invite new people by email and can hand ownership to someone else.
